December - Zine workshop #15 with Lorna

  • Arts & Cultural Exchange 8 Victoria Road Parramatta, NSW, 2150 Australia (map)

Learn to make a zine, work on your own publication, and connect with fellow zinesters.

SoZ workshop #15 will be co-facilitated by artist, zinester and five-time School of Zines alumni - Lorna MacRitchie. We’ll explore the art of printmaking – the process of creating artworks by printing by hand on paper, fabric, wood, metal, and other surfaces.

Lorna MacRitchie is a multi-disciplinary artist. They have a BFA(Hons) from UNSW and an MA Fine Art from Central Saint Martins. Primarily working in sculpture, with a background in printmaking, Lorna currently works with wood, rubber and paper. Conceptually they aim to be uncomfortable, making objects that are between definitions and pushing against binaries.

SoZ creator Aphrodite (Illographo Press) will run through the basics of zine-making, paper-folding, and the traditional art of binding. Lorna will showcase their art & zines and talk us through the printmaking practice of making monotypes.

Art materials, paper, resources, references and inspo will be provided. :)
